History of the APA
Founded in 1994 as The Spoken Word Publishing Assocation, the SWPA changed its name to The Audiobook Publishing Association (the APA) in 2004 to reflect better the now universal term "audiobook". The APA is the UK trade association for the audiobook industry with membership open to all those involved in the publishing of spoken word audio, including, among others, publishers, producers, abridgers, agents, actors and studios.
The APA disbanded in February 2010. We are therefore unable to take new members or answer queries regarding the UK audiobook industry
